The Silver Birds of Prey 4 Coin Series

This series is the successor of the popular Canadian Wildlife Series. There will be 4 coins in this series. These limited edition coins will only be minted in 2014 and 2015.

The obverse of these .9999 fine Silver coins features the profile of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Canadian born Susanna Blunt, along with the year and face value of $5 (CAD).

1st Coin - 1oz Peregrine Falcon
This coin, depicting the spectacular peregrine falcon, is the first release for the four coin "Canadian Birds of Prey" series. Peregrine Falcons are roughly the size of crows and can reach speeds of more than 200mph, making them the fastest animals in the world.

The 2011 Australian Koala Silver designs show an adult koala resting in the fork of a eucalyptus three along with its offspring. The traditional inscriptions of the year, the size of the coin and “999 SILVER” join a new descriptive inscription of “AUSTRALIAN KOALA” which has never before been included on the series. The Perth Mint’s historic “P” mintmark is also shown on the reverse.

Each of the these Australian Koala silver are legal tender of Australia under the Australian Currency Act of 1965 and thus contain a portrait of “Queen Elizabeth II” on their obverse together with the legal tender value of “1 DOLLAR”.

Perth Mint 1 oz Australian Kookaburra Silver Bullion Coin

The first one ounce Silver Kookaburra was issued in 1990 by the Perth Mint, the Kookaburra come in a number of different weights from 1oz to the large 1kilo silver bullion coin. The Silver Kookaburra have been released as silver proofs and gilded silver bullion coins and they do come in a variety of different privy mark types. The Silver Kookaburra is one of the most collected bullion coins on the market for collectors to buy. The 1oz coin has a 300,000 issue limit for mintage when introduce in 1990, the Kookaburra is the only major silver bullion coin which changes its design every year making it attractive to collectors. In 1992 the Perth Mint released large silver bullion coins to the public, these bullion coins came in weights of two ounce, ten ounces and one kilogram. Initially these were produced as proofs or specimens, but they are now available as a non proof version as well. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and the face value of the coin in 1990 was $5 and from 1992 till 2010 lowered to $1, these coins are issued as legal tender under the 1965 Australian Currency Act. The Kookaburra is a very large terrestrial kingfishes native to Australia and New Guinea.

This .999 Birtannia silver coin has a face value of £2. The reverse features Britannia, the female personification of the island of Great Britain used since ancient Rome. Britannia first appeared on a coin in first century Rome, but was not included on British coinage until 1672.

The reverse image is of Britannia in her Roman-style helmet, holding Poseidon's trident in one hand and an olive branch and shield in the other. The shield is decorated in the same style as the British flag. Britannia’s dress and hair swirl in the wind as she looks out to sea, watchful against threats. The rim reads 1 oz 999 FINE SILVER, BRITANNIA 2014.

The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth’s dignified portrait. The words ELIZABETH II DG REG FID DEF and 2 POUNDS are written around the rim.

The Saltwater Crocodile is the largest reptile in the world in terms of body mass, and is found in suitable habitats from northern Australia through Southeast Asia to the eastern coast of India.

Males can reach up to 7 metres in length and can weigh over 1,000 kilograms, while females are significantly smaller, generally reaching only 4 metres in length, and weighing up to 100 kilograms.

Despite their name, the saltwater crocodile not only inhabits salt water but is just as happy in fresh, brackish and saline water in ponds, swamps, lakes, creeks, streams, rivers, billabongs and the ocean.

The saltwater crocodile is an extremely formidable and opportunistic predator capable of killing almost any animal that enters its territory, propelling itself through the water with surprising speed. Their sheer enormity makes them the most dangerous of all crocodiles to humans.
